Plan ahead if you want to hunt deer in Kansas in 2008, as some rules have changed.

Out-of-State hunters MUST APPLY in the May lottery draw. This may be done on-line at the Kansas Department of Wildlife website or by phone at 1-800-918-2877.

Landowners will not have out-of-state tags for sale this year.

Out-of-state hunters may choose 2 adjacent units to hunt. Irish Creek Outfittters is in Unit 15 for rifle and muzzleload. Your second unit choice should be Unit 5 or Unit 6.

For Archery, Irish Creek Outfitters is Unit A6. Your second unit choice should be A4.

There is another change for 2008. You must choose either muzzleload, archery or rifle when you apply in May.

KDWP has proposed the following dates for 2008 hunts:

Early Muzzleload: Sept. 22-Oct. 5

Archery: Sept. 22 – Dec. 31

Rifle: Dec. 3-14

Extended Anterless: Jan 1-4, 2009

These dates should be made official at the July meeting.

Your hunt can be scheduled in advance of obtaining your tag, we will guarantee a 100% deposit refund if you do not draw a tag.
